Water quality on Presque Isle beaches getting better

The water quality of Lake Erie along Presque Isle beaches is the cleanest it has been in two years. This is according to the PennEnvironment's annual water quality report. In 2009, Presque Isle received four out of a five star rating for beach water quality. The recent decrease in contamination is thanks to a water monitoring system by Erie environmentalists. PennEnvironment said that storm water caused 100 percent of Erie beach closings in 2009.
